Are autogynephiles dangerous to women? This is a common assertion. What’s the evidence? Yesterday on X, someone circulated this, along with the assertion that “20% of rapists are AGP”: Image I see Tweets like this occasionally, almost never by people who have read the relevant research or know anything about it. (Also true in this case.) They mainly know that they don’t like AGPs. (Not true of the original poster, I think.)

Our article “Psychometric Evidence that Paraphilia is a Natural Kind” has just been published in Archives of Sexual Behavior. You can use this link to read the article:

(If you need a link to a downloadable version, email me: profjmb@gmail.com)rdcu.be/dPJAE The article empirically addresses a longstanding controversy: Do paraphilic interests share anything in common other than the judgment that they are unusual and strange? Is there anything scientifically interesting about the class of sexual interests called “paraphilias?”

Happy Autogynephilia (AGP) Awareness Day! @AGPAwarenessDay I fully support the goal of raising awareness. I want to raise several issues that if addressed would make the world better for persons with AGP and those in their lives: @AGPAwarenessDay First, I want to make it clear that AGP per se should not be stigmatized, used as an insult, etc. It’s not AGP that is the problem. It’s AGP denial.

@Quillette recently published an essay by Deirdre McCloskey @DeirdreMcClosk that many people seem to admire. quillette.com/2019/11/10/ref… @BlanchardPhD @AliceDreger @Quillette @DeirdreMcClosk @BlanchardPhD @AliceDreger Having “known” McCloskey as a public transsexual since 2003, I believe that they are missing a few things.
