It is with the coming of the Muslims that monotheism spread throughout the gentiles... Of course, oaths by Allah and vows to Allah are part of Islam.

And every muslim bows down to God. The Quran even says that the companions are described as bowing down to Allah in the Torah...

Lets start with the key verse, v9.

It tells us that God will give the gentiles a pure language so they may serve him with one shoulder.

This refers to the Islamic congregational prayer. The muslims pray together in Arabic and stand shoulder to shoulder, as if the body of worshippers had one shoulder....
Some translations even render the literal phrase "one shoulder" as "shoulder to shoulder".

This chapter is full of prophecies regarding Egypt.

v21 foretells that the Egyptians will enter into the knowledge of God.

Of course, most Egyptians converted to Islam.... v22 mentions that the Lord wills strike Egypt. But this striking will ultimately lead Egypt to return to God and hence be healed.

Ultimately, the reason the Egyptians converted to Islam is because they were struck by the conquering of the Muslims...

(THREAD VERSION🧵 ) Jesus is accused of "overcooking his food in public". A euphemism for engaging in sexual sin publicly.

The fact that this is a euphemism for sexual activity is indicated by Berakhot 62a where Abba's lust is compared to eating a cooked dish.

The context also makes clear that overcooking food is a euphemism since this is presented as a sin. Overcooking food isn't a sin so this must be a euphemism......

⭐️An Interlinguistic Pun in the Quran⭐️

In surah 3:35, the mother of Maryam says she has dedicated what is in her womb to Allah

The wording is “Inni NAZARTU laka maa fee batnee”.

What was she dedicated her child as? Quite plausibly she was dedicating the child to take the Nazirite vow (explained below).

Note how “NAZARTU” sounds awfully similar to Nazirite (hebrew “NAZIR”). NAZARTU even comes from the N-Z-R root.

In Judges 13 & 1 Samuel, we see that parents would dedicate their children for the Nazirite vow. (DSS of 1 samuel 1;22 explicitly says I have dedicated him as a nazirite. In Judges 13 the child is dedicated from the womb)

The details of the Nazarite vow are explained in Numbers 6.

The story of Samuel’s birth is of a barren woman praying for a child and finally being blessed with one. Samuel’s mother is Hannah and Maryam’s mother is Anna according to the Protoevangelium of James- so we have a typolgy going on. The stories themselves are obviously parallel as well- Anna is also a barre women praying for a child and getting one.

Likely that Anna would’ve been inspired by Hannah’s story and thus wanted to dedicate her child as a Nazirite like Hannah dedicated Samuel.

According to Jeffrey J Butz in his book on James, Jesus of Nazreth might derive from him possibly being a Nazarene. Christians being called Nazrenes may also derive from them being Nazarenes. James the brother of Jesus was a Nazirite according to Hegesippus.

Again notice the pun: “Inni NAZARTU laka” to describe her dedicating the child in her womb for very plausibly the *Nazarene* vow. Girls could take the nazirite vow as well as boys- so one might object that her exclaiming that she has had a girl in the next ayah isn’t compatible with it being a Nazirite vow. However, her exclamation at it being a girl doesn’t have to be connected to the vow. It can just be her hoping for a boy in general as many mothers do. In fact Mary was worshiping in the temple etc. which is an image that could indicate she did carry out her mom’s dedication.

So with His Hands he grabs, folds up, and they have fingers. Real Hands or metaphor?….

(1) According to the Talmud, if the majority of the rabbis say the jewish law should be x, but God says the law should be something else, one must obey the rabbis & disregard God. They cite as evidence a verse which actually says the opposite… (2) According to this midrash, God must obey the decrees of the rabbis……

He cites Daniel 7:9 where God is described as having white hair, and then cites SOS 5:11, where God is described as having black/wavy hair. He then concludes that this is a formal contradiction if God is only one and so there must be a plurality of Godhead... Yet this is the irony of Christians. The talmudic rabbis are take an allegorical approach of SOS and that although it on the surface is referring to a wife describing her lover, jews understood the wife to allegorically represent the jews and the husband to represent God...
