The forgotten hero Madan Lal Dhingra (18 February 1883 - 17 August 1909)
Despite being the first Indian to kill a British officer William Hutt Curzon in England, Madan Lal Dhingra has failed to find a memorial befitting his stature even after 115 years of his martyrdom.
His remains were returned to India in December 1976 after being buried in a UK prison's cemetery. His statue was placed in a green space close to a bus stop.Additionally, the city's bus station carries his name. The martyr's bust may be seen close to the Town Hall structure.
