This is a stunning failure of policy.

An inability for large metros to get housing costs under control has them now bleeding college grads, which is going to put tremendous strain on their resources.

NIMBYism is a cancer.

nytimes.com/interactive/20… Image As you can see the wealthiest metros have been bleeding college-educated residents since before the pandemic, but the pandemic and the resulting remote work have made this a crisis.

Rapid depopulation of working-age people is catastrophic.

My dog Starbuck suddenly went blind. She’s a good pup. She spent her whole life very energetic and confident. Now she is very hesitant and hasn’t had her love of walks anymore.

Have any of you gotten your dog another dog to help her confidence and to get her moving more? Starbuck has become very docile lately. Doesn’t stare out the window looking for dogs to bark at and doesn’t charge the door anymore. Blindness has taken a lot of her spirit so far.

You don’t know what you’ve got till it’s gone. I even miss her antics like this.

A few things I find fascinating about most news websites is this:

1) Designing good news website is largely a solved problem. Fairly easy problem.

2) Most news websites aren't very good. This leads me to believe there are fundamental flaws with the product design process at most news organizations. Most likely a lack of rigor and proper processes to figure out what the user problems they are trying to solve and why whenever they redesign their websites.
