On the 113th anniversary of the Wuchang Uprising, let's unpack the Taiwan separatists' grievous distortions of the historical record:

🧵 (1/13) October 10th marks the National Day of the Republic of China. On this day in 1911, an armed uprising in Wuchang (present day Wuhan), under Dr. Sun Yat-sen’s Tongmenghui resistance movement, launched an attack on the local Viceroy. (2/13) Image

It’s sad to see Westerners who’ve been politicized enough to see through the lies their governments and media tell about Palestine go on to repeat imperialist talking points about China, Iran, Venezuela, etc. What they lack is a systemic analysis of how imperialism functions. The mainstreaming of Palestine solidarity in the imperial core has come at the cost of removing Palestine from its larger regional context, especially its Iranian and Syrian allies, and China’s support for both states.

The "Beijing Declaration” is a historic statement of Palestinian unity agreed to by 14 Palestinian factions who met in Beijing today.

The document promises to “unify national efforts” to resist Zionist aggression and to seek the establishment of an independent Palestinian state. Image The statement concludes inter-factional talks hosted by Beijing including Hamas, Fatah, the Palestinian Islamic Jihad, the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine, and others, and builds on dialogues held between Hamas and Fatah in Beijing in April.

Qiao Collective is thrilled to publish our analysis of why the argument that Western leftists must make “principled critiques” of Global South nations right as they are being targeted by the Western imperialist machine facilitates imperialist intervention.
qiaocollective.com/en/articles/wh… How many times have you seen pseudo-leftist Westerners piously claim that "we should attack both the U.S. and X nation under attack from the U.S."?

Read our thorough analysis on how these narratives inherently advance Western imperialism.

Rising anti-Asian violence in the West cannot be separated from empire—the military encirclement of China and relentless propaganda which paints China as duplicitous, conniving, and invasive.

Yet liberals are *shocked* when the Sinophobic violence they sow abroad comes home. The same forces that have spread conspiracies about a Chinese COVID-19 "cover up" and lies about China blocking WHO investigations in Wuhan are now up in arms about anti-Asian hate violence.

They like their imperialism with a side of performative "anti-racism"

We’re reeling from news of the murder of 8 people, including six Asian women, in Atlanta. The tragedy coincides with the 53rd anniversary of the My Lai massacre—a reminder that violence against Asian women is a direct outgrowth of the US military’s racial & sexual abuses in Asia. This abuse disproportionately affects Asian women in the sex trade. The figure of the violable & disposable Asian woman sex worker is proliferated in US accounts of imperial war in Vietnam, Japan, the Philippines, and Korea, brutally allegorizing the imperial conquest of Asia.

To further the military encirclement of China, the U.S. is dedicating $27 billion to the "Pacific Deterrence Initiative"—a plan to expand the U.S. military stranglehold over Okinawa, Korea, Guam, Hawai'i and more.

We unpack U.S. Indo-Pacific strategy in our latest infographic. ImageImageImage The PDI is just the latest in a decades-long, bipartisan project to militarize Asia and the Pacific to intimidate "enemy nations" like China and the DPRK.

Military strategists talk about Pacific "island chains" not as sovereign nations, but the U.S. military's backyard. ImageImageImage

Qiao Collective is thrilled to publish "The War on China" by @izak_novak.

This is a crucial and comprehensive long form piece on the complex, years long U.S. strategy behind its push to economically and militarily destroy China.

Read it here:
qiaocollective.com/en/articles/wa… @izak_novak The U.S. is waging a hybrid war against China to destroy it. U.S. imperialism will not allow a socialist country to succeed. This war is escalating and it is dire that we challenge it.

D.C. bigwigs are lauding this anonymous document as the "Longer Telegram"—a 21st century update to Kennan's Long Telegram, which informed Cold War containment and intervention in Korea & Vietnam.

This is the bloody legacy China hawks unabashedly invoke.

politico.com/news/magazine/… This document is a window into understanding the hysteria that guides U.S. aggression on China. It is founded on crucial assumptions that: (1) U.S. hegemony is righteous and must be defended (2) China represents an alternative to the U.S. world order that must be stopped

What is dollar hegemony? In our latest infographic, we unpack the outsize influence of U.S. dollar over the world economy, how it creates endless cashflow for U.S. militarism, and how sanctioned nations are building new international financial systems outside of the U.S. monopoly ImageImage Following World War II, the ascendant U.S. forged a new international financial system, based on the dollar standard and U.S. dominated institutions like the IMF and World Bank. Many on the Western left invoke the trope of "principled critique" of China to repeat interventionist narratives about China.

But critique does not exist in a vacuum. In our latest, we explore the ethics of critique in an imperialist landscape.

qiaocollective.com/en/articles/wh… @qiaocollective "The silencing and pre-emptive self-censorship of Diane Abbott tells us something about the West’s increasingly aggressive policing of political speech on China amidst escalating hostility toward China and Chinese people."

South Korea is enforcing US sanctions and refusing to pay Iran $7 billion they owe in oil purchases. Iran is pleading for the money to address COVID.

US client states must take responsibility for the violence they inflict as enforcers of US imperialism. bloomberg.com/news/articles/… For rich, wealthy nations that have become wealthy off of being arms of US imperialism, enforcing US imperialism is a choice. Many countries like China, Cuba, Iran choose to violate US sanctions and endure the wrath of the US.

All nations have a duty to follow this example.

Qiao partnered with Hong Kong communist group The International 国际 to translate their writing!

"The Hong Kong "democracy movement" co-opts the language of "self-determination" & "autonomy" as a cover to bring Hong Kong more under Western colonial rule"
qiaocollective.com/articles/hong-… “'Hong Kongers' fervently believe that, because HK inherited a European colonial government, they are above the 'Chinamen.' As proxies of imperialism, they fear they could lose their favored positions & strive to reclaim their sense of superiority."

If you read anything today, read the latest from our comrades the International—a group of Hong Kong communists—on the right-wing, anti-communist nature of the HK protests and the Western left's morally bankrupt attempts to paint them as "decolonial."
international-online.org/2020/12/13/wtf… "Having acknowledged the Hong Kong protests’ right-wing nature, Lausan’s ‘leftists’ remain all the more enthusiastic and supportive. Lausan’s claim of being ‘radical’ is really only about giving anti-China, pro-imperialist violence a ‘progressive’ cover."

On the 83rd anniversary of the Nanjing Massacre, we remember that memory is a political act.

As Japan was absorbed as a junior partner to U.S. empire, its crimes have been silenced, its war criminals pardoned, and justice deferred. Yet still we remember. In the wake of World War II, the U.S. systematically pardoned Japanese war criminals—including masterminds of the Unit 731 biological warfare unit—all because they were useful tools for U.S. hegemony.

Japanese politicians continue to visit shrines to these criminals.

The U.S. elections today offer mere window dressing to the brutal bipartisan projects of racism, capitalism, and war which engulf the whole world.

The work to build people's democracy continues. The work to derail the U.S. empire, to build real internationalism, continues. Biden and Trump have both made clear they have every intention to continue to escalate New Cold War aggression on China, sanctions on Iran, Venezuela, Cuba,
and the DPRK, and shore up U.S. empire.

From the perspective of the Global South, there is no "lesser evil."

Newsweek's claim that 600 Chinese community groups in the U.S. are "arms of the CCP" is based entirely on the Australian Strategic Policy Institute—which is literally funded by the U.S. State Dept & Raytheon.

This is full-blown McCarthyist manufacturing consent for war on China. @Newsweek's front-page is claiming that 600 Chinese community groups in the US are "arms of the CCP" with a sinister image of Xi.

This incites violence on Chinese people & imperialism on China, while the US is sending warships & bomber planes everyday into China to incite war.
