If you just woke up to and wonder what happened to the hic et nunc website and its "discontinued" twitter account here's some info what is going on as far as I know:
We are clearly facing the third hen crisis and this time it is the worst case scenario: Rafael Lima, the creator of hic et nunc got hit by a bus. Well, not really. Rather in an irresponsible act of rage decided to leave and turn the off-switch on everything he has access to.

I made this work in addition to the 25 prints that will be part of the "Now You See Me Now You Don't" group show and features the work of 22 artists who portray highly endangered animals and plants.
Got my work cut out for me today: Hanging the artworks for our #NowYouSeeMeNowYouDont show that opens tomorrow.
Now the question is of course - what's the size of @heikomuller's painting?

The idea of building an autonomous entity that is able to be creative or at least co-creative in some form goes back hundreds of years. Literature is full of examples of machines or contraptions that could be seen as some precursor of the idea of AI: frontiersin.org/articles/10.33…
I guess anyone who starts with generative art quickly comes to the question: "how can I automate this fully?". For me that moment came when I wrote my first "try out every possible pixel combination" program back in 1985 or so on my Commodore C-64.

Probably a bit of an overkill just to scan slides. #robotporn
I got the loop for the pickup working, but the dropoff is still a mess with the occasional sticky fingers. Maybe I should just throw them in a bin.

My contribution to the #OBJKT4OBJKT event is a free NFT that is also a social experiment:
"Diminishing Returns" will list any collector who picks up exactly one of them. BUT: if you take more than one or try to resell it, your id will be dropped.

The extra bonus is that each of the listed ids will link to the profile page. The only problem I notice now us that the link tries to open within the iframe, so you have to right-click "open in new tab".

@smgstudio@tezos To start collecting you first need a @tezos wallet which is a piece of software that handles all the transactions and logins and which you use to access your funds and collectibles on the blockchain.
@smgstudio@tezos There are different wallets providers you can choose between, I have good experiences with @TempleWallet and @KukaiWallet but I heard good things about Galleon by @CryptonomicTech, too.

Now that two thirds of out first collab edition "After Her CalmWafer™ Installation" are sold @presstube and I are trying out a new way of offering the rest of the edition - I call it the "Presstube Method". Let me explain.
hicetnunc.xyz/objkt/3659
We started the edition at a price of 10 tez which makes it very affordable for early birds. But now for the remaining ones we will always just put one of them on the market and with every sale we will raise the price by 10 tez.

"Here or There" - a quick test for navigating @hicetnunc2000 by a cluster map. This is a temporary url and an absolutely no-comfort UI, but you can scroll and click through to the objects (even browser-zoom). Also not tested on mobile.
spiral-agate-nutria.glitch.me
Let me know if it does not work on your brower or you get a different image than the one you clicked on - I only tested this on Chrome and I really do not enjoy Javascript.

Okay, here's my first aggregation clustering based on ResNet features of the current @hicetnunc2000 collection. Note that I use a grid representation for animations and movies which tends to cluster those together. Zooming in recommended.
For those who prefer more of a color-based neighborhood here's an early arrangement of the same data using the thumbnails themselves as the feature vector. It will smooth out some more the longer I boil it.

For an upcoming collaboration I created an algorithm that edits music videos autonomously by selecting the best matching scenes and cuts for a given song. Here's a test with some found glitch material.

Another attempt at a longer piece. An imaginary Jerome K. Jerome writes about Twitter. All I seeded was the title, the author's name and the first "It", the rest is done by #gpt3
Here is the full-length version as a PDF: drive.google.com/file/d/1qtPa1c…
I am really happy about the spelling of "to-morrow" at the end of page 2.

It's like programming, but with free text. I don't think a five-year old could do that. #gpt3
It took me three attempts to refine my instructions (on the left) until the model understood what I wanted. Output on the right.
There is more...

I've created an experimental GAN architecture I call #RecuResGAN or "Recursive-Residual GAN" and I am pretty astonished that:
- it works at all
- how well it works across a pretty wide range of scales.
- it is just 15% the size of a comparable #pix2pixHD model
Of course I did not google the concept of recursive neural networks before I started this experiment and enjoyed the illusion of being very innovative here for a whole day: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Recursive…
Oh, this is working better than I had hoped for. A different type of #BigGAN evolutionary search. #neurography#neurealism
Going to latent places no human has seen before. #BigGAN
