In addition, Mayor Mamdani has managed to anger a lot of people with the “warmth of collectivism.” He held a series of anti-landlord “Rental Ripoff” hearings but —wait for it — excluded public housing NYCHA tenants which he’s in charge of. Adding salt into that wound, a judge found HPD in contempt making him NYC’s worst “landlord”

If you're wondering why people in the outer boros are starting to flip out over Eric Adams' City of Yes, here's a a good illustration. The proposal is to virtually eliminate all zoning throughout the city, allowing for monstrosities such as this in 1-2 family neighborhoods: For those who haven't ventured beyond Manhattan, many have chosen to live in quiet, sleepy neighborhoods for a better quality of life & more space. Some enclaves are architecturally & historically stunning, like in Forest Hills Gardens, Kew Forest Gardens, Jamaica Estates, etc.
