There's a reason why Conservative Judaism has a lot of trouble defining itself.

It is because Conservative Judaism (CJ) fundamentally works differently than the other movements.

Here's how I, as a Conservative Rabbi, understand it right now: CJ is not built not on ideology or orthopraxy but on the fundamentals of a process.

It is about HOW we make decisions rather than the content of those decisions themselves.

Definitions of a process are messy.
