Draft Monroe County Legislature map is out. This is the first 5-Majority-Black district proposal in Monroe County history. The 5 districts cover "the Crescent," the most historically disenfranchised areas of the community. All 5 are over 50% Black Voting Age Population. 1 #ROC The map was drawn in accordance with Section 2 of the Voting Rights Act. All 5 districts pass the test to create protected districts. Map negotiated with Legislators, Roman, Yudelson, Brew, Pres. Lamar & me at table.
Parties agreed to take back draft to caucuses on 8/23.
