What is frustrating me the most at present, having been to a family gathering at the weekend where no one wore masks, distanced, or washed their hands, & having had many conversations with people here about continuing self-imposed Covid restrictions.. (1)
~ taking 'personal responsibility', as we were asked to do ~ is that very few people who no longer take precautions seem to understand that what we do we are mostly doing for others, or even to be able to consider the concept of doing so. Those of us who continue to restrict (2)

More on my visit to Crossbones Graveyard, an inconsecrated medieval burial ground in Southwark, mostly for paupers & sex workers. You can read about its history & why I love it so here instagram.com/p/B4Lg-J0HDxZ/…
Here, I am setting off. I found Fox-and-Cubs on my way. A goid sign.
Going to Crossbones means passing close to Borough Market, which was particularly vibrant on the edge of Hallowmas. I love the buzz of Borough Market but it is a bit overwhelming at times. Often I just look at the lovely veg & then run away!

What a lovely few days I have spent in quiet companionship with my old & dear friend who lives in the Hampshire chalk hills. I love the softly tidal nature of chalk landscapes, the gentle familiarity of old friendship. Soft on my heart.

Within 10 minutes of arriving I had my feet up and my slippers on & was eating a mince pie, I was brought breakfast in bed in the morning, tucked up with a hot water bottle at night, & my bedroom overlooked a veg patch. We all need these times. #smallbeauties
