#WWD2025: THE TRAILER BREAKDOWN VOL III.
Yes. Your eyes haven't deceived you. WE GOT ANOTHER TRAILER. (1/?)
As you can see, the video/screenshot quality is not great. The video is from youtube. Judging by the fact that it's not on any BBC websites, it's probably recorded from TV. Image

#WWD2025 : THE TRAILER BREAKDOWN.
There is no doubt that WWD2025 is ONE OF (?) THE MOST scientifically-informed paleo docuseries of all time.
Let's dive straight in! (1/?) Image

We start of with a wetland with giant Azhdarchids flying past. Portrayals of dinosaurs and their contemporary creatures choking in volcanic ash-covered environments can go into the waste bin. (2/?) Image

#DINOSAURIA : TRAILER BREAKDOWN THREAD.
I promised to do this thread a week ago. Since David James Armsby has recently been revealed to be one of the speakers at #DinoConUK, I think that the time is ripe. (1/?) Image

Some time ago, I initiated this discussion to answer one question:
How to make a paleo film with ONLY ONE OR TWO EXTINCT ANIMALS (PERHAPS EVEN ONLY ONE SEEMINGLY-PLACID EXTINCT ANIMAL) work as well as or better than JP/JW?
Well, here are some of the best answers I've received: Image Idea 1: Docu-fiction/horror (herbivore perspective)
Focusing on a small group of herbivores as they traverse dark badlands, fleeing from hidden predators. Under constant stress and starvation, herd members may collapse, be predated, be killed by companions or go mad...(1/2) Image

I think that the aim of #LifeOnOurPlanet is not to show that 'our understanding of paleontology is now deepened', but to show that 'LIFE IS DIVERSE, HAS A DEEP HISTORY, AND THEREFORE NEEDS PROTECTION'. Emphasis on the last part. (1/?) Image

Throughout the series, we get entire sequences displaying numerous modern organisms within a family without getting too much depth into any single species. These sequences, however, are dazzlingly colourful and are a strong representation of the diversity of life. (2/?) Image

#PaleoAgainstAI
I never thought that my first post of the new year would be about battling AIGC, but I need to write this thread.
In short: THE GREATEST THREAT OF AI IS NOT THAT IT MAY GET AS GOOD AS PALEOARTISTS (take heart, because it never will), BUT THAT IT *EXISTS*! (1/12) Image

Over the past year my #PaleoAgainstAI posts identified AIGC's plagiarism and the possibility of AI replacing paleoartists as the main issues. They are also the issues I aimed to prevent when giving advice as shown below.
I WAS WRONG. SO WRONG. (2/12) Image

@Paleosculpts @ddinodan @Keagan20016 That's actually the spirit.
(I grieve to say that I was much more intolerant of 'inaccurate dinosaurs' a few years back. I sometimes still am when I see stuff like 65... 😂) @Paleosculpts @ddinodan @Keagan20016 But at the end of the day it seems that the only thing I actually dislike is creature design that is lazily made that hasn't a shred of true creative spirit in it...
