"should we read" fracas just reminds me how uncomfortable people are with the idea that there are better and worse avocations, obsessions, and reasons to live. none of us will achieve perfection, but we can aspire to more than "pile up ever more money." yes, like (probably) you, i have to spend a lot of my time working to stay alive. some of us have far less leisure than others, and nobody is judging anyone for that. but nobody is making *any* of us valorize the work and wages as the only sphere of serious reality!
