Charles Rogers was born in 1929 in West Virginia, the son of a World War I veteran and coal miner. His early years were spent in a segregated school, where he excelled academically, played football, and was active in the drama club.

Today, I released our new city budget.
This budget is a historic $554 million investment in our neighborhoods and in our people.
Here's a snapshot of what we're investing in ⬇️
🏘️ $15 million in street paving, a $2.5 million increase from last year, and $1 million for the demolition of dilapidated structures, enhancing the safety and beauty of our neighborhoods.
