Met a taxi driver yesterday who gave me a lesson in courage. He said that if we don't speak out about the lies and cruelty of the current regime, then how will people ever learn or change their minds. He spends his life on the road, he said, and he sees both suffering and... 1/4 ... stupidity.
I suggested he be careful because these are bad times. He did not really agree with me. I don't care what names they call me: Khangressi etc. So what. Maybe I am. But at least I am not one of these AndhBhakts. From WhatsApp Uni...2/4 misinformation, he knew it all.

My experience with being forced to drink milk as a child. Just for fun.
I always hated it. My Mother poor thing got milk fever after I was born because I wouldn't.
Then as a child, miserable mornings. Too hot, too cold, bits of yuck malai and milk skin floating about. Milk had... ...to be strained at least 3 times. Half the time I would throw up. My Father claimed he put out a classified ad saying "wanted Mahashtrian strainer". I think it said "trainer" and he added the 's'.
My Mother tried Ovaltine. Yuck.

Spent an evening with seniors in Hyderabad last week. My biggest takeaway was loneliness and being sidelined by their children. As if the minute you hit 60, your need for leisure, pleasure, fulfilment reduces. This is criminal, to my mind. We need to understand ageing better... And stop denying older people their right to have a life. I see younger people denigrating their parents all the while, maybe inadvertantly. I tell you this: it won't be long before you realize that you're over 60 and you will still want to live as good a life that you can! Think
