I had a very important patient encounter the other day and in the aftermath of it I’m feeling a lot of feelings.

In small town rural America in comes a teenage girl that with weeks and weeks of vomiting.

She’ll only give one word answers and shows no emotion. 1/ I said the words, asked the questions, performed the exam, ordered labs, got the results, rolled the eyes, and sat there.

Everything is normal.

NOBODY wants to hear that... ESPECIALLY concerned parents.

I know... because I am one.
