Although I can't stand the, "Well, it's not gonna happen!", that marks our party, I don't think the West Wing scenario is going to happen. And I'm also sitting with this disastrous Supreme Court. And I know it can get worse if Donald is reelected.
I'm not going to attempt to convince others that they are wrong in their criticisms of Joe. Either his diminished capacity, his complicity in propping up Netanyahu, or other things. People have legit criticisms of Joe and the, "Don't believe your lying eyes" approach ain't it.

Genocide must *always* be named. And being opposed to genocide is the only right response. And if you're too afraid to name that--why is that? AND also. Opposing right-wing governments isn't new for me. What is new, is explaining that opposition ≠ antisemitism. #FreePalestine
I have opposed Netanyahu's rightward positions and it is WILD for folx to think they same person who has treated Palestinians subhuman BEFORE the atrocious attack would suddenly care about law and human rights? #CeaseFireNow #FreePalestine

It's the gall, for me. @POTUS please, for the love of GOD, don't even consider running for reelection. You're not it. You certainly were a better alternative than 45. And please make way for others. @BernieSanders I love you and the same for you.
These same folks have been leading us and leading us. Making promise after promise. And then giving excuses after excuses. They play to the middle because they've convinced folx that's the winning strategy. Ignoring our policy shifts backwards and staggering losses.

Expand this fucking supreme court! #RoeVsWade
Because it's ABSOLUTELY clear that nothing is sacred to this partisan crew. The only way that democrats and @POTUS can DO to protect the American people is expand the court. I've not been sold on expansion before.

This is a democracy and not a game of hopscotch; there are no turns. When politicians tell others to "wait your turn", they are exposing themselves. They are exposing that they see our democracy as belonging to the insiders and the elites inside the parties.
That is not democracy. That is an oligarchy. In a democracy, a republic to be exact, the people elect the representatives who serve in our stead. We shouldn't have to choose between the insiders who groveled and lost their "why" long enough ago that they're the person in-wait.

Happy Saturday, Friends! Isn’t it interesting how so many folks calling for a halt on progress of the 2040 Plan ignore the present realities of Charlotte? Like they are literally ignoring the outcomes produced by the status quo.
This belated opposition to the 2040 Plan reminds me of the folks who suddenly became the champions of the poor kids and how they’re being impacted by school closings.

“We can’t stop speaking out, we can’t stop fighting and we can’t lose hope. If we lose hope, that’s the end of it.” -Jeremy Lin There is something insidious about hate & gun violence. Something that makes me angry and immensely sad at the thought about it. theguardian.com/sport/2021/mar…
It is something that we must war to overcome. That something is apathy. It's how d*mn accustomed we come to experiencing it. To my shame, this hasn't really resonated or hit me in the way that it should.
I'm sorry for my apathy. cnn.com/2021/03/18/bus…

Good morning, y'all. There are quite a few opportunities this week to learn more about the #CLT2040Plan. I've created a public folder with source material about the plan that I encourage you to read here: drive.google.com/drive/folders/…
Good morning, friends. Here is your daily reading on the benefits of elimination single-family only (R1) zoning. This time it's from @TheAtlantic. Please educate yourself find out what you can't or can't tolerate. theatlantic.com/ideas/archive/…
I can't stress enough how important it is for you to interrogate motives--yours, mine, and everyone's--in this debate. Many Council members (Black and white) live in "beautiful" R1 zoned neighborhoods they want to protect. Pay attention the the Myers Park and Eastover HOAs.
