My son's school had been using an extremely problematic "child abuse prevention" curriculum. Indiana passed a state law requiring children be taught "age-appropriate" perv prevention which was a thinly-veiled cover for the religious right to... /1
...get their abstinence-only, "purity" culture nonsense into public schools, & probably advance the false narrative of "all Democrats are pedophiles".
To stay in compliance, my kid's school partnered with a non-profit that had some VERY problematic verbiage in their charter. /2

You're going to see this quote tweeted a lot today. You've been warned.
I haven't read it yet, but I will later. I assume it's just one long bad take, but I should reserve judgment.
I started reading it. I've rolled my eyes in every paragraph.
Not only is it just poorly written and constructed, it makes soooo many excuses for male mediocrity, pits every measure of success in a weird binary of men vs women (that's not reality), & uses alarmist language.

My husband woke up early last weekend and got a nice haircut. He texted me a picture of himself looking good and I texted back a photo of me in my CPAP with one eye barely open to read the notification because I thought the contrast was funny.
Turns out it was on the family chat
So like my sister and all our parents (including the one I don't speak to directly anymore) saw it too.
My sister poked fun at me and asked if I meant to send that to everyone and I was like "not really, but it was just a joke and the family won't care I look like shit"

Met a guy at a party tonight who is an English lit teacher at a Catholic high school. He's teaching 100% books written by men about male protagonists. Further, all the authors are deceased.
I asked why he's teaching those books in particular and he said...
... because those were the books they had classroom sets of when he got his job.
I offered to buy his class any book he wanted to teach.
