A Master Thread on the Master Symbol: The Tree of Life We exist between two worlds: the exterior world of objective physicality and the interior world of subjective thought and feeling. Both are real to our experience. The energies operating throughout them are transmutable and interchangeable from one to the other.

1/ The tree is as much an active process as it is a symbolic concept. The Tree of Life is a glyph that explains the patterns and harmonies that exist between the creator and the creation. 2/ It can be used as a filter or lens or explanatory device against which an endless stream of conditions and dynamics can be laid upon. It also holds the key to man’s salvation from his own mind and to an understanding of the salvation achieved by the Gnosis of Christ.

0 In the last thread, I explained the nature of the 8 core faculties of the ego (Thinking, Feeling, Sense Perception, Intuition, Memory, Imagination, Understanding, Will). I also broke down the differences between the conscious (egoic persona), subconscious, and unconscious. 1 Now when I use these terms to help explain the Consciousness-Attention Operations Model we will have a shared context for their meaning. Two new concepts will also be introduced in this thread: ‘symbol’ and ‘thoughtform’.

We begin by defining our terms and creating some distinctions. 1 First, we look at the 8 core faculties of the ego (esoterically, the Ruach). They are in the central box of the diagram. Consider them as four pairs of two, each pair representing a spectrum. They are not binary sets; they are complementary ranges.
