from an expert, but a guidance into the light. A parent, loving his or her children, may guide those children to truths beautiful even if he or she does not know or understand them very well.

So.

I don't think of myself as a “proud” person, but I will admit that I am gripped by a certain pride. That is: I try not to think too highly of myself, but I like to think that I can do a lot of things on my own. I seldom ask for help in my work, in chores, errands, etc.

🧵 It's probably a bit pigheaded of me, but it mostly comes from not wanting to burden others unnecessarily. If I want something done and I can do it, I should be the one to do it—I treat that almost as a maxim in my daily life.

At a certain point, that begins to add up.
