1) I was homeschooled from 4th through 11th grade, at which point I opted to get my GED and take courses at the local community college.

2) I now hold a BA in Literature and Philosophy, and an MA and PhD in Philosophy.

3) Education is not the conveyance of information... from an expert, but a guidance into the light. A parent, loving his or her children, may guide those children to truths beautiful even if he or she does not know or understand them very well.

4) This is why many homeschooling curricula and programs exist, to help parents...

So.

I don't think of myself as a “proud” person, but I will admit that I am gripped by a certain pride. That is: I try not to think too highly of myself, but I like to think that I can do a lot of things on my own. I seldom ask for help in my work, in chores, errands, etc.

🧵 It's probably a bit pigheaded of me, but it mostly comes from not wanting to burden others unnecessarily. If I want something done and I can do it, I should be the one to do it—I treat that almost as a maxim in my daily life.

At a certain point, that begins to add up.
