The prominent VCs reading the Wikipedia entry for the First Amendment tonight should really stop and consider what a miracle it is that 1A restricts state-level speech regulations at all, which the Supreme Court only ruled on in 1925(!) oyez.org/cases/1900-194…
This tweet isn't going to do any numbers but let's all take a second to think about the fact that our cherished First Amendment is only as powerful as it is because of the Civil War and the expansive rights granted to all citizens during Reconstruction in the 14th Amendment.

Elon soon to discover that “free speech around the globe” means very different things in different countries, none of whom like having their laws broken and who will happily retaliate against Tesla and SpaceX to spite the world’s richest man theverge.com/2022/4/14/2302…

The copyright nerd in me won't let this bit of the conversation with @cdixon go — if buying an NFT comes with a copyright interest that might be revoked if the company is acquired, all you have is a copyright *license*, not an actual transfer of ownership. theverge.com/23020727/decod…

Here’s @mcsquared96’s review of the Mac Studio, with both M1 Ultra and M1 Max - an incredible machine, and the Ultra is a historic achievement in chip design. 2x performance of the M1 Max across the board, seamlessly for every app we tried. Wow. theverge.com/22981815/apple…
I was also tasked with reviewing the new Studio Display which… well it’s a 60Hz panel with no local dimming or HDR and that A13-powered webcam looks very bad. Very, very bad. theverge.com/22981744/apple…

Spotify says it has taken down *20,000* podcast episodes for violating a Covid content policy... a policy that no one has ever seen, enforced by a mysterious moderation team of indeterminate size. @ashleyrcarman asked, Spotify ghosted. theverge.com/2022/1/27/2290…
Here are some questions Spotify should answer:
- What are your Covid content policies for podcasters, and do podcasters know what they are?
- How big is your moderation team, and are they contractors or employees?
- How much time is each deleted episode reviewed for?
