How not to encourage active travel. A thread.
This is my account of travelling to and from the @londonlegacy planning committee on Tuesday which was @LondonStadium . I'm not quite ready to talk about the meeting that night, so talking about travel is a nice distraction.
The first step, when organising the meeting, is to email the members and ask them to send in their car registration details for security. Ask this several times, with an increasing air of urgency.

This was a really important scheme which takes rat-running traffic off small residential streets. Better air quality, safer streets for children and pedestrian and cyclists. It’s always good to listen but as councillors we need to do the right thing too.
So disappointed to see loud and angry people protesting on behalf of drivers but not speaking up for the majority who do not drive, who walk and cycle and scoot around unsafe streets.
