We know how not to do this. We don't have to go back to the kinds of institutions depicted in One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest - even though they were not all like that.

I stopped at a light the other night and there was a family begging on the street. Mom, dad and 8 or 9 year old daughter. Another vagrant approached the family and the dad and other man started shouting and pushing each other. Then the mother joined in.
The child looked terrified, the other drivers stopped at the light looked terrified - was someone going to pull a gun and start shooting? The man started to walk off, but kept coming back and yelling. Eventually the light changed and everyone went about their business. 2/6

Why I Won’t Lie 🧵
Today I learned @preta_6, had been terminated from her nursing job. She was fired because she would not say that men can be women.
It’s such a simple lie, why not go along with it to save your job? 1/12
I’ve been asked this question so many times I’ve lost count. Why can’t I just go along with a lie? What does it hurt to tell a little white lie?
I’ll tell you why I won’t lie. I won’t lie because I’ve been lied to and I hate it. 2/12

Not as much fun as my dating threads, but important insight from my experience with marriage.
I’ve been thinking about posting this since Pete Hegseth was nominated for Secretary of Defense. Then the Lily Phillips story was all over the place and I shelved it. Actually, I’ve been thinking about telling this story since the Kavanaugh confirmation hearing, but it’s so personal, and I’m only a bystander. 🧵1/12
Today, Crystal Mangum came forward and admitted she lied about the three Duke Lacrosse players - they did not rape her. It never happened. What a surprised /s 2/12

I wasn't going to post about my date last night, because it was just kinda Meh, but people keep DMing me about it and after some thought it was more than Meh. A lot more than meh. 🧵1/
First of all, I don't want to be known as the woman who mocks her dates on X. I'm not choosing these guys because I want to make fun of them. I really am searching for a long lasting relationship. It even says so in my dating app profiles. I'm not interested in hookups or casual dating. 2/

Ok, so first off, I looked good tonight. Really good. Black halter top, black and white palazzo pants. Awesome earring from @kln3109 leather bracelets and thankfully Birkenstocks. Hair cooperated and it was cool out.
We met at a restaurant. He's wearing shorts, a Comcast t-shirt and tennis shoes and socks that needed to see some bleach. He smelled funny. Not bad, but just funky. I can't place the odor, but I can still smell it as I type and it's pissing me off because I didn't touch him.
After ten minutes of texting trying to locate each other we meet in front of the restaurant. He starts talking about a conversation he struck up with someone wearing a local college t-shirt and said he was giving her shit because it is a right leaning college.
