There have been reports of people with uteruses in the US being denied chemotherapy, cancer medication,lupus treatment, & even acne medication just in case they’re pregnant. A woman in Alabama is in prison for picking up her prescribed pain medication while pregnant!

A thread on ways I have experienced issues with being an asexual person, written against my better judgement considering the rampant aphobia in queer communities. As a mentally ill person, I have been on psychiatric medication for going on two decades now. Many of those medications have known side effects of inhibiting libido. Doctors have tried to convince me the lack of libido is worse than the illnesses they treat.

Who wants polyamorous in law shenanigan story time? My mother is not ok with me being polyamorous. My aunt is usually neurotic but she’s more liberal & while she doesn’t get the polyamorous she loves me as I am. So Tia & I were coordinating when to do my baby shower so she could be there but work around a surgery & recovery time for her. It’s really funny when men use “women & children get helped first” as proof of the chivalry & gallantry of men but when you dig into the numbers men overwhelmingly outnumbered all other folks at literally every kind of disaster in recorded history. The idea that adult life ends when a child is born is such a uniquely American idea that I will never understand as a Cuban American. My parents’ social lives continued when I was born, why wouldn’t mine? Children can absolutely be incorporated into adult lives. This stark isolation of parents is not a universal reality.

Everyone in my family that lied to me about pregnancy did so to ensure I produced a child regardless. How am I supposed to feel about that other than my only value being as a birthing machine who has no right to accurate medical information?

My parents are back from Europe & want me to visit them. In Florida. While pregnant with a high risk of miscarriage pregnancy. Sorry if this is controversial but I truly believe that if you are playing a character that is 100% from one race or ethnicity, you really have to be careful hiring mixed folks because they might be on paper the right choice but in practice much less so.

My uncle murdered my aunt. He went to prison, of course, & got out early for good behavior after he converted to evangelical Christianity. His kids & I don’t speak to him. He emails my Papi weekly about how we’re all going to hell for not forgiving him for, again, literal murder.

My brain is currently obsessed with an alternate history idea of what if Waco folks had surrendered & the US would’ve been changed by them being able to defend themselves, leading to Oklahoma City not happening, & the right wing not having their Alamo.
