Debugging poor bridging in FDM 3D printing, A 🧵:

So the other day we started to notice one of the @Prusa3D MK3S in our farm here just wasn't bridging properly. For those new to the craft bridging is a part of a 3D print where the printer is extruding an unsupported... 1/🧵 overhang between two sidewalls of a model (eg span of a bridge between two pilings as shown here)

The rest of the printed part looked fine but for some reason this particular printer just wouldn't bridge. We run this exact same slice/g-code on other MK3s & the bridge... 2/🧵

Well thats no good I think... ...no sooner do I have that thought than the car starts beeping madly saying "pull over immediately! Insufficient power" and then everything just locks up. No ability to shift to neutral. No releasing parking break/ emergency override. car is bricked in the middle of a 6 lane hwy
