"Our government would never do that" is not a valid argument.

The facts of history overwhelmingly prove this argument to be a childish fairy tale.

The term "trauma based mind control" is thrown around rather loosely, but William Sargant wrote about it matter-of-factly referencing the work of Pavlov who induced dramatic change in the behavior of dogs with extreme stress to the point of breakdown.

Details in 🧵 There was a certain threshold of stress that Pavlov termed "transmarginal inhibition" which when reached, brought a dog "beyond its capacity for habitual response."

When this state was reached, dramatic behavior changes would occur.

These changes could be made permanent.

Dr. George Scott, whose experiments w/ drugs & electroshock on Canadian prisoners were funded by CIA, was stripped of his license to practice medicine after it was revealed that he sexually abused women through "narcoanalysis".

Wesley Raymond Wells explained how a hypnotist could program someone to kill using hallucinations, amnesia, & posthypnotic suggestions to cover up the murder.

He uses an example of how to hypnotize someone to kill a dog that is loved first.

The Irving Janis report (1949) for the Rand Corporation also included a section on amnesia.

It said that they could induce amnesia in a subject so that would not remember that they were hypnotized or injected with drugs.

Psychologist Irving Janis did a report (1949) for the Rand Corporation discussing how to induce hypnosis "with uncooperative, resistant persons". These methods included disguised induction at a doctor's visit, while a person was sleeping, & using hypnotic drugs.

Dr. André Weitzenhoffer, a well respected researcher in the field of hypnosis, reviewed 10 studies on the topic of inducing people to commit antisocial acts with hypnosis.

He concluded that people can be induced to commit antisocial acts (i.e. murder).

🧵 The John Watkins experiment successfully induced the subject, a soldier, to attack an individual (innocent person) with intent to kill.

Clark Hull, credited with starting the modern study of hypnosis, once hypnotized a student to pick up a book and examine it when Hull sat in a chair and afterward the student had complete (posthypnotic) amnesia of his actions.

CIA ARTICHOKE document explains how a woman (with a fear of firearms) was programmed to shoot another woman with a pistol (she did not know was unloaded) and then experienced amnesia so deeply after that she vehemently denied she would do such a thing.

It is strange how John Gittinger does not have a Wiki page considering his role in making the Personality Assessment System while working for the CIA under MKULTRA.

Also strange how John Marks' article on Gittinger in Rolling Stone is not available online.
