So, a🧵from someone who has an inkling of how these things come about, and for those who might be interested to know how to avoid it. This isn’t a narrative issue in the way it might appear. IMHO it's come about due to narrative/level design & object placement misalignment. 1/16 This is not meant to serve as a critique of the game. I've not played it. So. Been watching this and I have some thoughts. Robin talks about guys being unfairly maligned because they just ‘prefer to play as guys’. They’ve had the luxury of preference because they’ve always catered been for. I just had to accept that it would largely be a bunch of dudes, and the smallest sneezing of female characters.

As someone who has worked on 4 female led AAA titles, I want to say a few words about this Battlefield hoo-ha. Whilst they may recreate some historical elements, let’s not pretend the Battlefield games are super realistic portrayals of warfare. They’re not. Yes, women have been involved in wars, in many different roles. Since time immemorial we have always fought. So let’s celebrate that.
