lol imagine designing an enormous public destination so that it’s illegal and dangerous to walk to Image It’s hard to imagine this happening in almost any other country. I’m here googling for a stadium anywhere in Europe or Australia that is surrounded by a sea of parking and hard to walk into and so far I haven’t found one. Lotta dumb Americans though! ImageImage

This is insane. This NYPD officer could easily have killed him. I’m a motorcycle rider who rides in the city every week and I’m pretty nimble and even I’m not sure I have the skills to stay alive if a cop tries to mash me into a jersey barrier at speed. What are we doing? I probably would have died at 0:24 when the guy had to jerk to the right to avoid being hit. I don’t think I could have reacted fast enough there.

A traffic violation is not a capital offense. Evading an officer trying to stop you is not a capital offense.

DOT fixed a thing! They connected the break in the bike network at W 13 St/Greenwich Av/8 Av!

Here’s the previous condition: And here’s the beautiful new connector. Photos are:

(1) facing W on the W side of 8 Av (left is S toward 13 St WB, right is N toward 14 St)
(2) (3) facing S on 8 Av (bikes turn right, or WB on 13 St, at the intersection)

Prompted by a @vinbarone thread, I watched “Together We Cycle,” the new film about the growth of everyday cycling infrastructure and culture in the Netherlands, today via this screening. You should watch it yourself when it comes around; here are some thoughts: We think of cycling in places like Amsterdam and Copenhagen as just part of the background, but in fact 100% of the deliberate bike infrastructure in these places happened within my lifetime, more than half of it within my adult lifetime.

Excuse me what From Samuel Stein, obviously. Here’s the underlying reason why MIH has so little impact: it results in no housing for the New Yorkers most urgently in need of housing. (Footnote is Barika Williams, @ANHDNYC.)

Siri show me a list of New York’s most bad-faith politicians and “community groups” (and include a Community Board that should be ashamed of itself) Imagine being a “Community Board” and opposing a safe and dignified place for the most vulnerable of YOUR CONSTITUENTS to sleep

This is an extremely irresponsible thing to say in a news story, not that I expect better from @CBSNewYork Image @CBSNewYork what caused the crash? WHO CAN SAY?

As a dues-paying member of Homosexual Agenda I have been given to understand that I am required to express my Opinions on Lindsey Graham, since for some reason that suppurating plantar wart (R-SC) is still figuring in the Discourse. So here goes: 1. Lindsey Graham is terrible. For gay people, for people who believe in human rights, for everyone. He was terrible before he decided that his next career pivot would be licking the felch juice off Donald Trump’s fetid scrotum, and he was terrible after.

We’re at the NYC City Council transportation hearing, which is about to turn to placard abuse. Corey Johnson begins his opening statement. Johnson: Parking isn’t just about where we put cars, it’s about how we allocate limited valuable street space.
