I had been avoiding engaging with this, because I don't want to facilitate the blatant attempt by transphobes to distract from the beautiful, powerful event that was London Trans+ Pride. however, now that SJB has been arrested, I've got a few things to say. If you don't know the details, SJB is a trans woman who served 30 years in prison. During open mic @ London Trans Pride, she said "if you see a TERF, punch them in the f****** face". Met Police initially declined to investigate, but arrested her yesterday:

This evening I glued my hand to the floor of the Oxford Union debating chamber, wearing a t-shirt which said “NO MORE DEAD TRANS KIDS”, in front of Kathleen Stock during her talk at the Union. Here’s why I felt I had to take this action: Kathleen Stock is an academic known for her ideas around ‘gender ideology’. I respect Kathleen’s right to free speech, but I’m also painfully aware of the consequences of her anti-trans propaganda. Her career and image is built around misinformation and fear-mongering.
