Totally cool and not at all defeating trying to make a living through art in a country that spends our tax dollars generously rewarding the ultra-rich for *destroying* art & defrauding consumers, all while claiming we can’t afford healthcare & childcare & loan forgiveness. Between the refusal to pay writers, tax loophole bullshit, unchecked mega-mergers/layoffs, and increasing prices, it’s a good time to cancel some of your streaming services, support creators directly when possible, find your fav stuff on physical media, and if you can’t, well… If deleting art to cheat ta...

Friday night pizza party at THE PIZZA HUT BETWEEN WORLDS

In 1985 LIFE Magazine photographed the opening of the first interdimensional @pizzahut restaurant, where creatures from across the realms mingled with human Travelers as part of an ongoing galactic cultural exchange. Phenomenal. Shame it has to go underground. I wanna walk through a theme park of giant gaudy animatronic mausoleums. Get the brands involved, pick your favorite burial mascot from a catalog like Baskin Robbins party cakes. Family discount if you all choose IP from the same corporate umbrella

“Valentine of the Flesh” was the theme of Satan’s debut show at #NewYorkFashionWeek last night, showcasing His range as a designer and dazzling critics with an unexpected floral twist on His signature themes of eternal torment and suffering in Hell. Going through my Dad’s shit, I found what I guess I’ll call my inheritance: casino bet slips he placed last year on 2023 NFL outcomes. Power move from beyond the grave to force his artist son to be invested in the outcome of a sports game for the first time. Anyway, the 49ers and the Chargers are “my teams” now, I am a diehard fan, those of you who root for [the competing teams], you are my sworn enemies now.

Looks like my last honor on this site is to make the list of "antifa" accounts right-wing trolls plan to try to get suspended from Twitter. That's like making a list of your enemies to give them the last lifeboats on the Titanic. Please, shitclowns, give me the final nudge I need A lot of the interesting people who make this site what it is are already gone. Their accounts remain, but they're not posting/engaging much. You can feel the difference in your timeline. You can feel this place getting uglier, trashier, less useful and more combative.

I mean that basically applies to all of his tweets right now but damn, the whole world is watching and “crybaby” is the best comeback you can squeak out through the humiliation

So I've been dreaming of making something like this for many years, and I'm very excited that it's finally happening: Beautiful, sleek, one-of-a-kind video art pieces that bring my glitch art into your home like never before. Here's a little preview: They're powered via a USB port on the back side with an elegant cable (included, w/brick), and mostly you'd probably display it plugged-in, BUT, it has ~2 hrs of battery life so you can pick up without the video stopping, which is a neat "magic" feature.

Oh no, someone used a *checks notes* digital art tool to win the *checks notes* digital art contest at the state fair, this is TEH END OF ART

arstechnica.com/information-te…

Brief thread, since people have asked me to weigh in on this. 1/ ImageImage The most common complaint here is the very old and tired "that's not art, anyone could do that!" But no one else did. He did. Standing in an art gallery looking at a banana taped to a wall complaining "I could do that" misses the point: You DIDN'T, nor would you have. 2/

At some point y’all are going to have to acknowledge the literal entire history of Christianity. It’s real hard to address the problem when it always has to be cautiously other-ized into “well that’s not REAL Christianity.” You can keep pointing out that it doesn’t follow Christ’s teachings, but how much of Christianity as a whole EVER actually has??

Saturday night, exhausted, finally got the baby down enough for a tiny break before the long night ahead. Got some snacks, kicked back on the couch, oh one more thing gotta let the dog out wait what’s he barking at FUCKFUCKFUCK anyway now I’m at the ER with a raccoon bite 🙃 Momo is traumatized but amazingly only has a tiny scratch (Steph is giving appropriate care/caution) but the fucking garbage rat bit my bare foot hard when I ran in to pull Momo out of the fight. I’m fine, but gotta get rabies shots & antibiotics.

Neighbors are having a garage sale and I SCORED. The tapes are all Halloween episodes of sitcoms and cartoons from 20+ years ago, taped off TV with commercials. ImageImage Also got this extremely haunted old drum of unknown origins, and possibly the most cursed object ever, a shrunken head made “in the traditional way,” I’m told, but out of lamb skin instead of people (again, I’m told). NERF has introduced their new mascot, “Murph,” a big weird featureless terrifying gun-toting bigfoot thing made of foam darts who yearns to “unleash the play in you.” Murph is a fuckin nightmare and I love him, thank you NERF Brand for this floppy affront to God. My bad, Murph is not a he, Murph is a post-gender dart monster, hell yeah

"Autonomy." A new piece created with @Steph_Sheridan_ about the struggle to retain a sense of self amidst forces internal and external that seem seem determined to take it away. A deeply personal work that we felt might resonate beyond our own experience. A thread: 1/ This is our honest, conflicted portrait of pregnancy: Not as a glossy rose-colored magical special gift that greeting cards & influencers lie about, but as a difficult, messy, complicated body horror filled as much with joy & wonder & love as it is pain & fear & uncertainty. 2/

Live #GlitchArt/datamosh visuals I created for "The Great Destroyer" on @nineinchnails' 2014 tour. This was the ultimate evolution of a visual design for this song we started on the 2007 tour and iterated over several tours through the following years. The 2008 version of "The Great Destroyer" is where we first started inserting frames of the Blue Screen of Death into the glitching visuals, leading to a widely shared "NINE INCH FAILS" meme. Image

So last night random people start tagging me that they saw our cat Jean-Luc on a TikTok video. I'm not sure what's funnier, JL secretly out there in the streets hamming it up for a catfluencer TikTok with a million followers, or that fans RECOGNIZED him like a true cat celeb. AND it turns out Momo's neighborhood cat friends Lizzy and Benson are actually cat celebs who make regular appearances on these videos?? What is happening

I'm very excited about our new jigsaw puzzles, so here's a thread highlighting some of my favorite puzzles I've designed, some for your enjoyment and also some for your masochistic suffering. 1/ Glitch art jigsaw puzzles! Continuing my look back at NIN's #YearZero for its 15th anniversary with one of my favorite music photo shoots I've ever done, 2007 promotional photos of Trent Reznor for the album. 🧵 1/ ImageImageImageImage We wanted an aesthetic that felt like it put TR into the dystopian world and vibe of Year Zero, so I used a long “paparazz” lens and shot him from a distance, to give a paranoid feeling of being surveilled. 2/ ImageImageImageImage

Teaser trailer for my second @nineinchnails concert film, BESIDE YOU IN TIME, released 15 years ago #OnThisDay in 2007. An early entry in the new frontier of HD home video, it was the first live music feature released simultaneously on DVD, Blu-ray, and the ill-fated HD-DVD. 1/ My cover art for NIN's BESIDE YOU IN TIME concert film, released 15 years ago today. This marked the end of NIN's "With Teeth" era and the visual style I created for it; by the time this release hit we had already begun the #YearZero campaign. 2/ Image

There is no hardware more threatening than printers. A whole ass Chaotic Evil device category that society has universally loathed for decades. An ugly, angry presence in your home or office, a cursed appliance that isn't afraid to let you know it hates itself and it hates you. We got a new generic printer for basic office shit, and it's still sitting in the box because no one wants to be the one to engage in battle with it. It's just sitting in the office emanating bad vibes, a looming chore that bums you out when you pass by and remember it exists.
