This is a highly misleading post, for several reasons. First, if you're Amazon exclusive, your royalty percentage is 40%. As Audible has 65% of the audiobook market, this is a reasonable choice for a lot of authors.

Second, the publisher of the audiobook bears the cost of producing the audiobook, just as a print book producer bears the cost of producing a print book. I'm not sure why anyone would expect a retailer to invest to produce books. That's not the business they're in.

In other words, the average Ecuadoran's economic output is 1/6 of the average Michigander. Not surprisingly, the average Ecuadoran lives much more humbly than the average Michigander. The average Ecuadoran has no hot water, no AC, no heat, and no car.
