Let me put it simply as I can...you say the vaccine doesn't protect you FULLY from XYZ...a security system doesn't prevent you FULLY from a thief, a car doesn't protect you FULLY from an accident...does it mean you should sleep outside or ride on the bonnet? Ask yourself that ok
I've sat with friends in hospital fighting pancreatic cancer, gunshot wounds, car accident, stab wounds...I've seen few die, but always had a chance to hold their hands, talk to them, they've had family visits, other patients too...Covid removes the ability to do any of that

While I will be the 1st to say Currie could've said far more saying less and his statement should've been better tempered, AGAIN I must ask...who does comms/PR for FLA? Is the leadership a magnet for talking publicly without considering privacy, tact, good sense, law and caution?
How can the FLA start off saying they are investigating a "report" of Currie having a shotgun, declaring details of his license...obviously the police made a report...FLA wouldn't you ask "how/why wouldn't the police have sought to ascertain certain details re the shotgun?"

PJ Patterson/PNP won THREE general elections...supporters called him a genius and today is what he is most talked about/remembered for..."great strategist, better organiser" blah blah...Andrew Holness/JLP win general elections/by-elections people say "money mek dem win"
If money was what it took to win elections of any kind in Jamaica, kindly explain how one of the country's wealthiest men not only lost his seat, but was given a rassing by a neophyte who had no money? If ever there was was a bullshit excuse, it has been certainly proven

I know the greats, I've worked with ALL of them...Carmen Tipling, Corina Meeks, Butler/Moo Young, both Foote Sr/Jr, Marcia Forbes, Gurney Beckford, PRO AND Lyndsey McDonnough etc aaaaaaaalll the way back to when it was claimed pure "white people" run ad agencies...been in the biz
There was a time we could say only "certain agencies get certain work" and the measure was quality/value for money...some way, somehow we ALL KNOW EACH OTHER...literally any call yuh mek aguh have "friends" or sub contracted people yuh know...

It is time to look beyond green and orange, suss and rumour, verandah and armchair expertise and realise we cannot rabidly damage reputations daily under the disguise of "accountability"....and we must expect journalists/journalism to guide our information, not add to its mystery
Editorialising in journalism is pretty much just introducing opinions into factual accounts...I'll just get it out the way early....HOW do you have an explanation in the article for why the procurement committee changed their stance, but say "seemingly convinced"? Is that right?

For decades we here in Ja have cultivated a culture of placing everything in the name of accountability at the feet of politicians from beginning to end...our debate starts with "separation of powers", but our desires ask for "overreach"...so we all duck our duties using denial
We can afford to not demand of those responsible an episode of "Have You Played Your Role?", because all we need to do is blame politicians for our inability to account for our actions...or inactions...we want politicians fi do everybody wuk, watch/see every ting while we do nada

"There are times we must admit our own shortcomings, not in the realisation of blatant stupidity and coarseness on the part of others, but in our own naivety of thinking they could ever know or do better"

Today is another sad day in Ja @mikeyabrahams and I have only mentioned you here because of our longstanding relationship as friends and brothers and your advocacy for ages on the issue at hand...today I am disappointed and upset at so many in politics, media, social circles

Let me tell all of you ADULT JAMAICANS this SIMPLE FACT...if you need to have every goddamn Covid19 rule, law, restriction, notice, announcement, advisory changed (in the name of YOUR HEALTH/SAFETY) then MAYBE the problem is YOU AND YOUR RESISTING, STUBBORN BULLSHIT SELF...yes?
All self serving all about you and yours do it to them but not us all of this is pure mayhem people, understand one thing...your heads are soo far up your confused, hypocritical assholes that one day yuh left, another yuh right.."open it", "shut it down", "let them in", "lock it"

I think it is important I say some uncomfortable things to women today in an effort for them to face some harsh realities. I already know I'm wasting my time to place a disclaimer of any kind, because the words of a man are already seen as excuses, deflections, justifications etc
Men/women like to think they are experts when it comes to talking about each other, women talk to women, men talk to men...both sides end up with pretty much the same conclusions..."men are..." and "women are.." and we just keep on down that same road expecting changes

So let me get it correctly...all this time some people were talking about specific parts of NIDS they really wanted ALL of it to go...ok...so it wasn't about "certain parts"...I see...I realise one common thread in the fabric of many arguments and I can say it without fear/favour
The same way many who have a lot to say against SOE are unlikely (in their minds) to be victims of murder or their family members...many who have certain positions against NIDS don't go through endless hassle to function as a citizen...they're at the point if feeling immune...ok

One of my godfathers back in my likkle yout days, still today is Douglas Vaz so was Edward Seaga...in my late teen years I told Uncle Dougie how I felt about the fallout between the two and he was good with it...we still meet and speak regularly to this day
We spoke one day about @annmarievazja and my wish to see her in full time politics but I doubted Poomps would agree...Uncle Dougie gushed about her being more in sync with the people from all walks of life, JLP, PNP ...and agreed maybe it was a good idea...where? Portland...good

I remember my days at THE St Richard's Primary when field trips/movies were an essential and established thing we did as students...it was part of education/civic pride/fun all wrapped up into one and the student body was from a mixed background...mainly middle/upper admittedly
We did Port Royal, Kings House, Dunn's River, Carib and a whole host of other places...there was a price attached most times and affordable to most...some didn't get "permission" but it wasn't about cost most times..."nex ting mi sen him an him guh drown" but almost all got to go

Big business in Jamaica will only understand the seriousness of crime when they lose so significantly it becomes unbearable...murders don't kill some profits, but closing at 2pm for a week because of curfew will...
When people in this country who are not directly affected by crime make the loudest appeals for action they really mean action against THEM not US...wanting to enjoy the SAME life while action is taken against "those people"
