Meta is about to secure a mega data center in the Dutch Flevopolder, slurping up electricity equivalent to 2x Amsterdam. 90% cut on electricity tariffs and securing vast amounts of subsidized green energy, thereby slowing down our energy transition. Despite broad concerns, this weekend the Dutch government persists in showcasing 7 solutions they selected for covid contact tracing in a “appathon” and “beauty contest”. A few concerns from someone who attempted to participate this week 1/x On Thursday, 63 experts gave input for selection from 67 remaining submissions.
