That time of year again where @edfringe jobs pop up and they’re ILLEGAL: @ThePleasance currently advertising for a role of 48 working days out of 53. Legally in the UK workers must have A MINIMUM 1 day out of 7 OFF, obviously 48/53 does not give legal time off. (Here’s the info for folks on legal breaks). Also, this deputy head of lighting position (of many ‘deputy’) positions is paid at £92.50/day without any information on hours in that day: what are the odds they will be more than 8.5hrs thereby making this below a living wage?

First up: expectations. From the off the expectation is that you will work the full festival 6 days a week and help with the GET IN AND GET OUT For folk with disabilities this is an immediate red flag. In my DM's I've messages from ex Pleasance workers detailing how the get-in and get-out process was so unsafe they just walked away. Others have mentioned crying on the stairs due to overwork and stress - not a great start
