As part of works along the N26 Cloongullaun Bridge Realignment Scheme, Co. Mayo, we completed the excavation of a large intact ๐—ฏ๐˜‚๐—ฟ๐—ป๐˜ ๐—บ๐—ผ๐˜‚๐—ป๐—ฑ *and* two (2โƒฃ) underlying ๐˜„๐—ผ๐—ผ๐—ฑ ๐—น๐—ถ๐—ป๐—ฒ๐—ฑ ๐˜๐—ฟ๐—ผ๐˜‚๐—ด๐—ต๐˜€!

The mound was divided into quarters (quadrants) and opposing quadrants excavated to give cross sections across the mound layers. This revealed several similar layers of material.
