The Florida “Don’t say gay” bill signed into law by the Governor today breaks my heart. I want to explain to you why.

🧵 I was an awkward kid. Always different. Pink was my favorite color from the age of two and after seeing “Star Wars” at the age of three, my idea of the perfect afternoon was alone in my room with my Star Wars action figures dreaming of a fantasy land far, far away.

As a former Ambassador, I don’t understand all this texting.

Our cell phones are locked away during the day since all our offices are “SCIF”s.

We were always told that texting is the least secure way to communicate. They were either reckless or wanted to be caught. It’s always assumed that the Russians (and others) were likely reading or listening to anything you were writing or saying on a non-secure device (we all have secure email and phones in our offices).

It’s all just so shockingly sloppy.
