Trump is likely to try and appeal these convictions—his attorneys were livid following closing and demanded a mistrial, but judge Juan Merchan was completely unmoved. Throughout trial, he seemed committed to running a calm & fair of a trial, making it harder to appeal.
Trump was not on trial and he won't go to jail for the NINE charges his company was found guilty of today... but it IS very hard to separate the man from his company (and it is HIS company, completely). As I wrote last summer: motherjones.com/politics/2021/…
