happy new year! every Jan 1st I have a tradition of doing a "year ahead" tarot spread, but this time I decided to do one for the entire world

the middle card is the overall theme of the year, and January is the 6 of Swords reversed, continuing clockwise

interpretations follow Theme of the Year - 6 of Pentacles

money, economics, welfare, generosity, giving, or in the reversal the lack thereof or overextension are likely to be central themes this year. the gap between the wealthy and the poor, class divides, the have vs have nots and tensions b/w them

I don't think of planets as archetypes so much as PRINCIPLES of reality

they're not just psychological or abstract; they run through our entire experience of reality

Mercury is turning retrograde and tech problems flare because its principles are networks, connections, language as Mercury the planet moves through the zodiac, experience on earth and it our own lives synchronistically evolves to match

when you've learned how to identify what things are what planets, you realize that they are *constantly* reflecting the current state of reality

so here's the thing: I hate dating and I've refused to do it. yet I've had my fair share of deeply affecting and fulfilling relationships and am now happily married.

this is a thread on "not dating", or trusting serendipity, focusing on your values, and core relational patterns I should preface this by saying that this strategy did lead me to a 5 year lonesome stretch, but I'm a loner by nature, and I had stuff to work on. YMMV. my hope is this thread can help you not waste your time just going through the motions, or feel bad for not doing it

example: in November the Mars/Mercury-Saturn square w the Sun & Pluto *very* closely aspected my natal Sun, Moon, AND Ascendant. I remember the feeling very well, because this was a peak of my meditation and awareness practice, and knowing astro I was concerned I'd get injured

it implicates that wherever you put your attention of any form, a charge of some form accumulates, whether you want to call that "energy" or another conception. it's neutral, but it points out how attention creates a glue between us and the observed

I've given up trying to explain to people that astrology/tarot can repeatedly, concretely used to predict and reveal information you couldn't know otherwise because it just doesn't go into people's heads. you can repeat yourself til you're blue in the face, it doesn't matter you can shove an entire list of people using astrology to make money on the stock market every day in public, something many people claim is a "random walk" (lmao) and they won't get it
