An Announcement About Tonight's Event
In partnering to host this event, PRESS and AFT agreed that our panel would address layered mitigation strategies that collectively make schools as safe as they can be. 🧵 These evidence-based strategies included vaccine accessibility, testing, ventilation/filtration, data-driven mask policies, & data transparency. We recruited a panel of nationally-recognized scientists to share their mitigation expertise with educators, families, & policymakers.

.@NYCMayor, what excuse could you have for making this change other than that you are surprised at how many students are in quarantine right now. You looking bad because of all the closures does not give you the right to make our schools even less safe. 1/ This will surely overwhelm your already overwhelmed Situation Room. Even KSO parents have been asking for test to stay, not "just don't quarantine kids who clearly are at high risk of exposure." Any expert who OKs this policy does not know NYC's context. 2/
