personally I think the Doug Walker rehabilitation is built on people feeling pity for him, like it became really easy to recast broad strokes of his story as being about luck and creative mediocrity instead of, ya know, cover-ups and abuse
I'm not blaming anyone for this but I do kinda think at some point the "Doug Walker Story" zeroed in on Doug Walker the creator rather than Doug Walker, guy who ran Channel Awesome, because that story was so dark and tainted with real world evil it wasn't as coverable

upsetting night so just gonna rewatch the conclusion of the JLU Cadmus Arc (not counting Epilogue cause that episode sucks, deal with it)
it occurred to me recently that Captain Atom feels hit exponentially hard by 9/11 for reasons I'm not entirely clear on, it's not like he was a Captain America sort BEFORE then and he spent the start of the new millennium slumming it in Wildstorm (I don't like Wildstorm)
