I grew up in the Reformed and Presbyterian world. Since I haven't interviewed every single Reformed person in the world, I can only tell you what I have observed and experienced.
The circles that I grew up in were self-defined by hatred and anger. There were insiders, parts of the group, that were loved and given a seat at the table. Then there were outsiders - the hippies, the unreformed, the minorities, the Baptists, the Lutherans, the Catholics, the Anglicans. These were the people who were contemptable, "not true churches",

In Ezekiel, God compares his relationship to his people as a husband making his wife beautiful - finding her sick, dirty, dying, helpless. He cleans her, dresses her, covers her with jewelry and gold and silver and adorns her as a bride for her husband. In Ephesians, Jesus compares his relationship to the church as a husband to the bride, using this same figure. Jesus raises his bride from death, makes her glorious and beautiful, without spot and without blemish.

And in Revelation, John sees the people of God as a bride adorned

I appreciate @JoshBuice 's assumption of my ignorance of the sufficiency of scripture. Gosh we are all really impressed down here with his learned ways.
That being said, I actually agree with the sufficiency of scripture. I am not, though, impressed with how that doctrine is twisted in order to keep people in bondage to the learned. This, actually, is the exact opposite of what the Reformers meant by it.
So just so we can understand - the suff. of Scr. means this: The Bible is sufficient for everything that we need to know for salvation

Helpful PSA:
Here is a list of more useful and edifying things to do with your time instead of stalking and bashing @aimeebyrdPYW
(a helpful note for those of impoverished imaginations):
Go outside
Read the gospels again
Give a bottle of cold water to the homeless guy Send a note of encouragement to someone online who isn't expecting it.
Kiss your spouse.
Tell your kids that you are proud of them
Play frisbee with your dog.
Walk on the beach.
Wash a window. It probably needs it
Run a load of towels. Nothing like a towel clean out of the dryer

Have you heard the argument that the solution for abuse is strong patriarchal homes?
Things that make me go "hmmmmmmmm...." (Remember Arsenio Hall?)

So I was thinking - if this were indeed true, there would be at least ONE example in scripture of an actual patriarch consistently protecting the women and children in his house.

I'm still trying to think of an example. Abraham? David? Judah? Isaac? Jacob?
anyone....anyone....anyone....

Consistently, what we see throughout the scripture is strong men throwing their wives and young ones under the bus

Unless you are a historian or social studies teacher, the word "feminist" has lost all meaning. It is used by modern theologians as a catch phrase and is now similar to Flo saying, "Mel, kiss my grits". It gets chuckles and kudos from the people who like that sort of thing, 1/ 2/ but adds nothing to the debate.
An honest man (or woman) deals with ideas and leaves name calling, catch phrases and connotations to the children and imaginary diner waitresses.
I seriously don't even know what "feminist" means anymore and will not engage

A quick reminder -
The "happy man" in Psalm 1 is Jesus, the Son of David and the Son of God.
It is not you, nor can it be, for it requires total devotion, total commitment to the law of God, and this can NEVER apply to you unless you lie about yourself - which simply adds to the offense.
It is also something that can never be accomplished by an act of the will.
But the promise of the gospel is this - you BECOME the happy man of Psalm 1 (whether you are male or female) by believing in the Lord Jesus,

I don't know if you have noticed, but our society, led mostly be those who profess Christ, has become ruder, more aggressive, more hateful, more dismissive, more contemptuous and more intolerant.
This is the opposite of what Christ teaches us. Paul wrote that love is not rude (unseemly, in the KJV).
So from time to time, perhaps a few pointers on how to not be a jerk might be in order.
We'll start with a simple one, that seems to come up frequently.
Men, there is no need for you to EVER ridicule someone for what they

About 15 years ago, I did a series of lessons on Baptism. I was brought up Reformed and so never really actually read anything by John MacArthur (this was before it was convenient for him to start labeling himself as Reformed).
Anyway - in the series on Baptism, I wanted to honestly deal with those who disagreed with Infant Baptism, so I studied what JMac wrote on it. I had heard that he was a scholar and presented the non-Reformed view quite well.
So I studied it.
That was when all of my red flags went up.

Yesterday I browsed #ShepCon2022 . Here's the depressing bit - there are so, so many people who think that what shepcon is serving up is the gospel.
But complementarianism isn't the gospel
Strong fatherhood isn't the gospel.
Masculine energy isn't the gospel. Feminine energy isn't the gospel
Sticking it to the libs isn't the gospel
Being a powerful culture warrior isn't the gospel
Being anti-woke isn't the gospel
Being woke isn't the gospel
Being "hard on sin" isn't the gospel.
Homeschooling isn't the gospel

Something we need to be clear on: When one speaks of different "ontology" for men and women, they either do not know what ontology means, or they have changed the meaning, or they are in serious error in their anthropology.

This language is a departure for orthodoxy. It has consequences. If men and women are ontologically different, then for whom did Christ die? Did he die as a man?
Or did he die as a human?
Did he redeem man?
Or did he redeem humans?

If men and women are ontologically different, men are saved by Christ, women by submission

At the heart of Xian nationalism is a hopeless contradiction. This is what we saw yesterday. Guns, violence and force under the banner "Jesus Saves
So here is the contradiction- does Jesus save? Or are we saved by law? It is the same old problem that Paul dealt with in Galatians How is the kingdom of God built and what is its nature?
Jesus said, "My kingdom is not of this world. If my kingdom were of this world, then would my servants fight."

Here is something to think about: There is no virtue, in all of scripture, that is commended to women that is not also equally commended to men.
Meekness, quietness, fearlessness, submissiveness, faithfulness, obedience, patience, nurturing - are not pink virtues, Rather, they are descriptions of the three-fold office of Christ, which are equally possessed by all who by faith are members of Him and partakers of his anointing - that is, all Christians.
The so-called "pink texts" are not new virtues, but specific applications

The biggest issue with CBMW is that it turns the marriage into opposing parties, with one necessarily subjugating the other. They know nothing of love, but merely redefine it as "Submission and authority" - for example, the catch phrase, "loving leadership". That isn't love. Instead of two becoming one flesh, united by a bond of love, you have two opposing parties performing roles. Instead of cooking and cleaning being simply basic life skills, they are turned into gender roles, and this carries into every area, from how to speak to the mailman
