In December 2024, the BBC asked me why Ukraine didn’t try to bring a Russian general accused of chemical weapons use before an international court.
My answer was simple:
There is no functioning court.
There is a battlefield — and it reaches Moscow.
Hours before that interview, Lt. Gen. Igor Kirillov — head of Russia’s NBC troops — was killed outside his Moscow apartment.
UK-sanctioned.
Charged by Ukrainian prosecutors.
Confirmed by Russia.
