Just attended SEND workshop with @suffolkcc looking at new Green Paper. Good news is - Govt recognise that the system is failing our children- it’s not just Suffolk, over half of all authorities are failing SEND children. Govt & Local Authorities & schools have all got to improve
Bad news is - although Green Paper identifies “aspirations” it doesn’t provide adequate solutions. In particular, we need 1) far greater powers for local authorities to direct and where necessary intervene in academy schools (not sure that current plans will do) @NEUnion
