I have told you already that knowledge is most useful in dealing with things. But it does not tell you how to deal with people & yourself, how to live a life. Light of Consciousness (1/6)
Light itself cannot be seen directly by our eyes. We can only perceive light when it is temporarily blocked or obstructed by an object. When the light is blocked, we see the object, and sometimes we mistakenly think that the object itself is what we are perceiving. This is a common misunderstanding because what we are actually perceiving is the light that is being reflected or transmitted by the object. The object is just the medium through which we perceive the light.

Method of self-enquiry:
The world is created out of the triad of time, space and causality and rests upon it. Therefore, it is only human to view the objects of its perception in terms of this triad. Causality prompts the enquiry into the cause or the source of all you perceive. And thus prompted, you must keep seeking for the source of your thoughts and feelings. Following this search earnestly, you reach a state beyond, where thoughts and feelings do not appear as such, nor does anything else exist there except yourself as Consciousness.

“Food, when eaten,
becomes divided into three parts.
What is its grossest ingredient,
that becomes feces;
what is the middling ingredient,
that becomes flesh; and
what is the subtlest ingredient,
that becomes mind.”

“Water, when drunk,
becomes divided into three parts. What is its grossest ingredient,
that becomes urine;
what is the middling ingredient,
that becomes blood; and
what is the subtlest ingredient,
that becomes Prana (life force).”

“Hence, mind is made up of food,
Prana is made up of water.”

Q: Isn't grace the gift of the guru?
RM: God, grace, and guru, are all synonymous and also eternal and immanent. Isn't the Self already within? Is it for the guru to bestow It by his look? If the guru believes this, then he does not deserve the name.

Verse 1: I questioned Maharshi ‘on the cutting of the knot’, regarding which even the learned have doubts.
V2: The effulgent Bhagavan, listened, meditated for a while, & spoke in his divine way
(1/11) Verse 3:The ‘knot’ is the link between the Self & the body, Awareness of the body arises because of this link.

Verse 4:The body is a matter, the Self is consciousness. The link between the two is inferred through the intellect.

THE SIX VERSES SELECTED BY SRI BHAGAVAN FROM-RIBHU GITA
1. The concept 'I-am-the-body' is the sentient inner organ (i.e. the mind). It is also the illusory samsara. It is the source of all groundless fears. If there is no trace of it at all, everything will be found to be Brahman 2. The concept 'I-am-the-body' is primal ignorance. It is known as the firm knot of the heart (hrdayagranthi). It gives rise to the concepts of existence and non-existence. If there is no trace of it at all, everything will be found to be Brahman.

Let's understand "I am" first.

1. "I"- Consider, for example, this very moment. You are just sitting there, reading this note. There is no ‘thought’ in the mind.
