We are pleased to announce the launch of our new offering – Pravesikaa Interactive.
This course takes the student through the basics of Sanskrit in the same way as our basic course Pravesikaa 1, but with a difference. In this offering there will be taught by a teacher online three times a week. Pravesikaa 1 is a self-paced course you can finish in one month or one year. But Pravesikaa interactive will be completed in three months.

Learn the basics of the panchangam in our online course.
The course (in Tamil) has been taught by Sri Murali, a well respected teacher of jyothisha at our college. He has explained in this course what the panchangam is, and helps you to understand the basics of jyothisha. He has clearly explained the following five arms of panchangam –
tithi,
nakshatram,
vaaram,
yogam and
karanam.
In addition, he has explained what is meant by raahu kaalam, yama kandam, hora, soolam etc. so that even laymen can understand what these are and how to use them.

The Madras Sanskrit College is a 113 year old institution. During the last 3 years we have started a digital campus. Our aim is to spread the knowledge of not only Sanskrit, but also our sastras and literature. One of the primary activity has been to broadcast courses for online learning of Sanskrit. We have developed 3 courses so far in step by step easy learning of Sanskrit. There are 2 beginners courses Pravesikaa 1 and 2 and a diploma level courses Dakshata (part 1 of 3).
