The destruction of Sam Brinton by the Tanzanian fashion designer whose bags he’d stolen and who brought the receipts was one of the great moments of (early) 2023. Image 😂☠️

"Our age suffers from a dearth of great men. This is largely because acquiring power and influence requires one to debase himself with egalitarian appeal.

We live under a de facto gynocracy where masculinity is pathologized in the name of “fairness” and “equity.

To achieve acceptance or relevance today, men must become female-adjacent; that is, to adjust to toxic-feminine conditions of empowerment:

Sameness, credentialism, risk-aversion, victimology, and passive-aggression.

I wrote some longform thoughts on the Vibe Shift.

>James Damore and being too early
>a time of strange alliances
>parallels to the Reformation
>opportunities for technological disruption
>innovation as a non-coercive political lever
>a return of courage

Strong disagree.

That's not the explanation—not even close.

It's merely a symptom of deeper, fundamental shifts that ultimately may be uncomfortable for left-leaning classical liberals to face. I don't have time to write a longer thread, so the simplest way I can put it:

Young men are fed up with the bullshit of liberal modernity.

They know it's fake. The psyop is over. They are ready for reality.

The other category we see is startups (85% founders are male). I’ve seen what @thisisfoster talks about a lot, with a slight twist (younger guys in their late teens/early 20s):

They tasted the false prizes and glory that the world offers young men, realized it was all fake (and hit rock bottom), got saved, and now want to build as a matter of obedience and joy.

One of the most McCarthian films in existence.

Thematically very different but yet feels like it takes place in the same cosmos as Blood Meridian. The Revenant is, at its most fundamental, about the differences and ultimate collision between contracts and covenants.

Glass sees the world covenantally.

Obligations are sacred, writ into every blade of grass and shard of ice.

Fitzgerald only thinks in terms of contracts.

A big challenge for schools seeking to be academically excellent and also male-led is $ structure.

They keep tuition low, which lowers salaries, which means most of the teaching positions are filled by single women/married women.

Men can't afford to teach + have a mortgage.

It makes it difficult for men—especially the caliber of men you want in front of boys—to consider a full-time teaching (or even admin) position at a place like this.

To build these schools, funding + surrounding community paradigm needs to change.

Every week for the last few weeks I've connected with competent, ambitious groups starting classical Christian schools around the country.

Is anyone running a fund that invests/helps get these off the ground? I'm specifically getting requests from men who are building boys-only academies: avg day is 3-4 hours of history, literature, and writing, with the rest of the day focusing on physical work, fitness, and other productive pursuits.

I'd love to see these come to life.

MFW someone says we need “AI Rights” This reads like the backdrop for a real-life adaptation of “Ride Sally Ride” by Doug Wilson.

I had a friendly conversation last year with a guy opposed to gun ownership. Within seconds, it became clear we didn’t disagree about guns—we disagreed about the fundamental nature of reality, things like:

- What is a man?
- What are men for?
- As men, what are our duties? These are fundamental questions at play. We cannot sow the wind and be surprised when we reap the whirlwind.
