I’ve discovered that not many people know the difference between equality and equity so let’s go over the two so you can understand them and their differences and be able to explain them yourself!

#EmbraceEquity #InternationalWomansDay Equality means each individual or group of people is given the same resources or opportunities.

Equity recognizes that each person has different circumstances and allocates the exact resources and opportunities needed to reach an equal outcome.

If you are running for council or mayor in Calgary and using lines about private sector investment, you need to realize the biggest barrier to outside investment is currently the provincial government. Large corporations won’t move their headquarters here, their highly educated employees and families, to a place where those same highly educated employees will immediately say “I’m not moving to Calgary” after what would be a quick Google search to see what’s happening here.
