*** Favorable and Unfavorable Houses ***
If we combine angularity with aversion, we can determine which houses are favorable and which houses are unfavorable.
ANGULAR HOUSES
The angular houses, which denote important topics, are clearly favorable, as they aspect the Ascendant.
SUCCEDENT HOUSES
The succedent houses that aspect the Ascendant are favorable as well. The eleventh house is the house of friends and hope (Good Spirit). The fifth house is the house of children and creativity (Good Fortune).
The succedent houses that are in aversion to the Ascendant are considered unfavorable. These include the second house, the house of assets (Gate of Hades), which could indicate poverty, and the eighth house, the house of death (Idle Place).
CADENT HOUSES
The cadent houses that aspect the Ascendant are favorable. The ninth house is the house of religion and foreign travel (God). The third house is the house of the Goddess and represents siblings and short-term travel.
The third is considered semi-favorable traditionally, probably because in ancient times the eldest son inherited the family property, a practice that sometimes led to sibling rivalry and fratricide.
The cadent houses in aversion to the Ascendant are clearly unfavorable. They are the sixth house, the house of illness and slavery (Bad Fortune), and the twelfth house, the house of secret enemies and suffering (Bad Spirit).
