True, and The Bureau was first on this POV. Nor did “Special Rapporteur” David Johnston value this Privy Council Office “Special Report” or the 100 underlying CSIS reports and other crucial Canadian government records that I accessed.
Why?
Canadians must come to their own judgments.
In Johnston’s case the question could be is there a conflicting relationship with Beijing’s United Front?

Things that were known but powerfully reinforced this week. India is certainly interfering in Canada but it’s not even close, Beijing’s interference in Canadian elections and evident connectivity to the LPC especially, is off the scales. Russia is a fairly minimal player here. Canada has a problem (as I’ve been told for years) that bureaucratic heads of CSIS and RCMP are in danger of being under the thumb of the powerful ministers and especially the PM and his office. Think about it. Intelligence or law enforcement could be asked or better yet,

1. Sometimes it seems the idea isn’t fully getting through what United Front community groups in Canada are and why they surround party and government leaders. One can read the official documents of these groups online and understand they are literally Chinese Communist Party. Image 2. More to come on this and what should happen to leaders that knowingly accept Chinese Communist fundraising.

On to new stories, here is the bottom line on the Lab story and it’s important these days people don’t get confused with partisan debate, and that reporters accurately parse PMJT responses in coming days.
1. An infiltration of egregious and international significance occurred. 2. This was a People’s Liberation Army infiltration and espionage operation in a high security Canadian facility and Ottawa failed to stop it.

3. Justin Trudeau and his office covered the facts up but opposition parties forced at least basic disclosures showing Parliament worked

I’ll take you inside my reporting process a few years ago with the Health Canada Winnipeg Lab cover-up. Notice how the questions align with what the Trudeau government fought against ultimately disclosing in most cases. Image Notice how Health Canada redacted who QIU met in China- indicating the Trudeau govt coverup that opposition MPs grouped together to roll back, resulting in disclosures that Qiu was funded by and meeting with her People’s Liberation Army benefactors in the UFWD 1000 Talents net Image

Days before Taiwan’s pivotal presidential election I’m following NGO and governmental discussions on the understanding of PRC’s increasingly sophisticated election interference, I’ll tweet some gleanings (rather than report on The Bureau)
Some new information on scheme reported👇 As always I see Taiwan as a leading indicator for PRC’s political warfare on Canada’s systems, so interesting to hear new details that Fujian CCP entities paid off a Taiwanese journalist to publish inflated poll numbers for CCP’s favoured candidate (KMT) thebureau.news/publish/posts/…

You may have noticed The Bureau’s reporting on PRC interference has become more direct and explicit with regards to PRC’s use of Asian Organized Crime in CCP Police Stations, funding of interference and strategic corruption targeting Canadian politicians and businesses. Thread 👇 2. This is because the RCMP and my sources in US enforcement and intelligence as well as Five Eyes are becoming more explicit about their concerns of PRC using mafias to corrupt foreign politicians and institutions. Australia has seen this model and warned CSIS about it.

Unregistered foreign agent law (crucial gap in Canada identified by Global News reports in November ‘22) is the cornerstone in FBI case against New York CCP diaspora surveillance station cbc.ca/news/world/chi… As @samdunningo and I have identified often through open sources, the Ministry of Public Security evidently uses organized crime proxies w. underground financial capacity + feared reputations in communities outside China in what we now see are ‘110’ networks.
