I'm a feminist. I've been a female for a long time now. It'd be stupid not to be on my own side.- Maya Angelou

I am so tired of @UKLabour @Keir_Starmer @PrifWeinidog @theSNP @Plaid_Cymru @GreenpartyukRBX
I'm just one of many hundreds of thousands of women who have been part of the progressive left for all our adult lives. In my case the Labour Party. We have spent our lives challenging entitled men who thought they could bully us into not supporting women.
Like many women who have worked in the violence against women sector, we where demeaned and ridiculed by abusive men, public authorities and funders as we supported women.

There is nothing as reliably disheartening as when the media and individuals with a powerful platform circle the wagons to support each other and confirm each others views.
Everyone is entitled to their own feelings and perspectives but not their own facts. @ayeshahazarika and @Samsmethers have projected animus where there was merely challenge and disagreement. It is true women may be aggravated may even be harsh, however why is there an expectation for women to be kind & considerate regardless of how much a struggle has cost them?

@ayeshahazarika Ayesha of course you get to choose how you engage in a debate, other women also may find your choice wanting.
I found your article really depressing, women may well air their frustration but to equate that to the death and rape threats sent to women is disingenuous. @ayeshahazarika This is not a toxic debate, there hasn't been a debate. There has been backdoor lobbying, proposals to change laws & guidelines, women have called foul. Women have been harangued intimidated and sent death and rape threats. Women have been called bigots for calling for debate.

@JamesUnfettered Sums up how I feel as well.
I'm a atheist, most of the people I love most in the world believe in god. Very different ideas of god and religion, I dont nor couldn't agree with all of them.
I cant make my brain accept something, I think not to be true, (believe me I tried). @JamesUnfettered My feminist ideas and principles are in stark contrast with gender activism. I believe sex to be immutable and gender socially constructed and fundamentally part of womens oppression. I couldn't possibly identify with that.
