On Feb 28, 1981, Judge K. B. Navadgi reversed the verdict of Justice K.A. Muktadar of the Andhra Pradesh High Court and gave a "clean acquittal" to five police personnel who were accused of rape of Rameeza Bi and murder of her husband Ahmed Hussain in March 1978. Ramzeeza Bi and her husband were returning home in a rickshaw after watching the Telugu movie Yamagola on the night of March 29, 1978. Finding Rameeza Bi alone while her husband went to take a leak, the police whisked her to Nallakunta PS and raped her.
